The PIN code scheme was first introduced, all over India, in 1972-August 15th. Madurai PIN code number ranges from 625 001 to 625 022. The number '13' is missing ..!! Here too it means for UNLUCKY..!?!?
On 6th September 2003, the Tamilnadu Postal Circle launched its 'Postal Finance Mart' (PFM), a one-stop shop for all financial and allied products and services offered by the Department of Posts, at the Head Post Office here.
This is the first of its kind in India. The objective of the PFM is to provide all financial services and products, such as small savings schemes, insurance, infrastructure bonds, mutual funds and international money transfer, under one roof.
Trained and qualified persons, certified by the Association of Mutual Fund Industry will provide counselling to the common man on investment. The staff members would not recommend any particular product, but provide literature on all products.
